Press Release

Opening KSQ Massage.jpg

By Fran Maye

Yet another new business is preparing to open in Historic Kennett Square.

Kennett Square Massage, 116 S. Broad St., Suite A, will stage its grand opening on Friday, Nov. 6, coordinating it with the First Friday Art Strolls. Complimentary five-minute chair massages are being offered along with drawings to win free massages.

Proprietor Stacy Gibson said she could have chosen other places to open her business, but strategically chose Kennett Square.

"I've seen Kennett Square grow recently and it's booming with new businesses," Gibson said. "It has diversity and I want to be a part of it."

Gibson is a 1986 graduate of St. Mark's High School in Wilmington, De. and attended St. Patrick's Elementary School in Kennett Square. Her grandfather operated Madonna's Dry Cleaning business in Kennett Square in the 1940s, and her family had a balloons and cakes business from the mid-1980s to 1999. After being a stay-at-home mother, she went to Cortiva Institute, Pennsylvania School of Muscle Therapy in King of Prussia to become a certified massage therapist when her third child entered school.

"I've always wanted to help people feel good about themselves," Gibson said.

Kennett Square Massage offers therapeutic massage including deep tissue, sports, and myofacial release. In addition, Gibson is certified in Swedish massage and other corrective therapies. Her work is holistic. Her space is soothing. She begins every session by determining her client's objectives, and then works mindfully to maximize the desired results. She concludes with a thoughtful evaluation and personalized recommendations. Each client departs their session both relaxed and enlightened.

Gibson offers all types of massage, even 15-minute "pick-me-up lunch specials."
